Site Build Projects undertaken

2006 - 2010   LARS is currently working with two contractors installing 29M structures for Network Rail.  The work is performed both during daylight hours and under night time possessions. The structures range from hinged monopoles erected with hydraulics, traditional monopoles and towers erected with cranes under possession. Lattice towers are utilised for the remote sites with difficult access. These are hand built with both fixed and floating dereks.

2007  LARS engaged as principle contactor to build complete replacement radio site at Hertforshire Police New Headquarters. The contract  included 50M tower supply, erection and rigging. The old site was decommissioned on completion.

2007  LARS supply and install 30M heavy duty RADAR tower at Kincardine Bridge. The works were undertaken for Easat Antennas and were successfully handed over to the Civil Aviation Authority.

2004 - 2006   Appointed by Bechtel to perform rollout project for Vodafone. The works involved the installation of greenfield sites in difficult access locations, to provide GSM network coverage along the West Coast Mainline Railway. LARS management team learnt a great deal from this project which assisted the company to implement major improvements to internal management processes & project reporting. A number of on-line systems were used for downloading tender documents and uploading site completion and compliance documentation. LARS participated in their first e Auctions on this project which caused great excitement for the spectators in the office!

2002-2004  Constructing T Mobile Greenfield radio sites and rooftop radio sites for Gresham ADC through the North of England.

1999 - 2002 Working with ADC company Wilkinson Helsby Partnership, constructing complete radio sites for  Mercury one 2 one for their emerging Mobile phone network

1994 - Design, fabrications and erection of 12 Guyed Radio masts for Yorkshire water board. The masts suported a new private mobile radio network and scanning telemetry antennas.

1993 - GSM Build for NTL (Now Arqiva). Building Compact 30 sites accross the North of England for Cellnet. The installations were performed on BT telephone exchange rooftops, water towers and greenfield sites.

1993 - Build Temporary Watchman Radar site with secure compound at  Peterhead in Scotland. The site build in extremely short timtescales to provide continuity of service while a permenant solution was constructed.The Civil Aviation Autority engaged LARS to remove the site and return land back to its natural state.

1992 -  Working with Norweb Communications to develope a radio infrastructure through upgrading and building new transmission sites throughout the North of England. LARS have maintained a strong engineering relationship with this network during its many changes of mangagment & ownership through to 2010.

1992 - Construct 6 new Greenfield radio sites for Manweb in Wales.

1991 - New tower on Northumbria Water headquarters building. The work involved fabrication of interface steelwork, and a carefully planned installation program to avoid disruption to the client.

1989/90 - Installation of 22.5M greenfield radio site for Northumbria Water. This site was the first complete greenfield site installed by LARS. The project involved transferring operational PMR, Microwave and Telemetry equipment from the existing old site prior to decommissiong. This project was a great success and lead to a long term relationship with the client, a relationship which is still active today.
