Tower Strengthening Completed
16 May 2018
LARS has recently completed tower strengthening works required on two towers in the South of England.
The first tower at Gravelly Hill in Surrey required the replacement of existing diagonal members between 34 metres and 42 metres and the installation of two face frames at 40 metres.
The second tower at Fairlight, near Hastings in East Sussex, required new redundant members to be installed on all four face frames of the structure and strengthening by leg plating. Five face frames were also installed at various heights. LARS fabricated and installed all steelwork on both towers.
Principal Designers on each project were MFD Communications Infrastructure Limited. Jon Milstead from MFD commented, ‘We were very impressed by the service and level of work provided by the engineers from LARS. We recognise the professionalism LARS seem to constantly employ and the extra mile they will go to complete work on time to excellent standards.’
