RISQS Five Star Rating

26 June 2019

Lancashire Railway Line

We are thrilled to announce that LARS Communications has achieved the maximum five star rating in our recent Railway Industry Supplier Qualification Scheme (RISQS) Audit.

The RISQS Audit is an annual audit that is industry owned and governed – it is run by the industry, for the industry. The scheme is led by the Rail Safety and Standards Board (RSSB) and reviews our management systems and rail specific requirements. Demonstrating our ability to meet the Network Rail Health, Safety, Operational and Competence standards, the audit must be completed successfully to allow us to continue to work on the Network Rail Infrastructure.

The audit is split into a number of sections including: IMR (Industry Specific Requirements), which covers a whole range of elements, from working hours to industry specific equipment; the Sentinel Scheme, which looks at the management of rail qualified personnel; and RIPS (Railway Interface Planning), which concerns work processes and safety.

The audit itself is a critical requirement for a number of our clients working in the transport sector. With our five star rating, we are able to demonstrate that we conform to industry specific requirements, and in doing so provide assurances to the 110-plus industry buyers that we are a trusted rail partner.

We would like to say a huge thank you to all involved. Achieving a five star rating is not an easy task, but we have a fantastic team in place, as well as extremely robust systems. This is more great news following our recent ISO 27001 achievement.
