In The Press – Our Accreditations
4 December 2019
Every now and then we like to let the wider world know what we’ve been up to. It may be a new contract, new recruits or a significant event. Recently, it’s been all about our essential accreditations.
These accreditations not only demonstrate our commitment to maintaining the highest possible health and safety standards, but also show our customers that we conform to the very highest regulations – a vital requirement when it comes to securing new projects.
Our recent achievements include the Alcumus Safe Contractor, highlighting our commitment to health and safety best practice; our five-star rating in in the Railway Industry Supplier Qualification Scheme (RISQS) Audit; passing the Achilles Utilities Vendor Database (UVDB) Audit with a near perfect score; and our ISO 27001:2013 certification, the international standard which outlines best practices in information security management systems.
As Lancashire Business View reported, these accreditations are “particularly important to the firm and the confidence of its customers, as a typical day could include operating heavy machinery, working at height, abseiling or carrying out excavations.”
The Lancaster Guardian highlights what a boost to the company the ISO 27001:2013 achievement was, “reinforcing the company’s commitment to providing the highest level of information security management.” As well as the ISO 27001:2013 certification, our ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 were also re-assessed and no non-conformities were recorded.
All the titles running the story pick up on the RISQS Audit, and the benefit of being able to bolster our position as a supplier to the 110-plus industry buyers within the transport sector. Our five-star rating ensures that we can demonstrate the ability to meet the Network Rail Health, Safety, Operational and Competence standards, and therefore meet the buyers’ criteria when it comes to work processes and safety.
The various titles finish their coverage with a quote from our MD, Ian Turner. Ian was quick to point out what a fantastic team effort achieving these accreditations has been, extending his thanks to all those involved, acknowledging that it’s “this level of hard work which means that LARS will continue to be on the radar of some of the UK’s leading blue-chip companies.”
