Top Safety Accreditation
14 September 2021
LARS Communications is proud to confirm that it has been awarded top safety accreditation from Alcumus SafeContractor for achieving excellence in health and safety in the workplace. This is the fifth successive year that LARS has achieved this accreditation.
The Alcumus SafeContractor Scheme
Alcumus SafeContractor is a leading third party accreditation scheme which recognises extremely rigorous standards in health and safety management amongst contractors. It is used by thousands of organisations in the UK including SMEs and FTSE 100 companies, across a broad range of industry sectors.
Run and assessed by the Alcumus Group, the SAfeContractor scheme provides technology-led, compliance risk management certification and accreditation helping companies in the UK, and abroad, to comply with the latest legislation, and to create the safest possible working environments.
Achieving this accreditation allows LARS to showcase its capabilities to potential companies, as well as demonstrating that its health and safety documentation is not only up to date, but that it also meets strict industry standards. Furthermore, it shows a commitment to sustainable and ethical working practices.
Uniform Health and Safety Standard
The industry roles undertaken by the team at LARS include:
- Heavy Plant and Machinery
- Ladders / Step Ladders
- Tower Scaffolds (tower installation or upgrade)
- Working at Height
- Working on Roofs
- Working on Services or Systems
- Equipment Requiring Isolation
With such a variety of roles, it’s vital that there is a uniform health and safety standard in place right across the business. In turn, this health and safety standard demonstrates to customers and potential customers that LARS Communications holds the relevant health and safety paperwork required to meet stringent industry standards.
Health and Safety Procedures
The Safecontractor scheme put businesses’ health and safety procedures and their track record for safe practice under the microscope. Only those companies meeting the high standard are included on the database, which is accessible to registered users only via a website.
Gemma Archibald, Chief Operating Officer at Alcumus Accreditation, said; “Major organisations simply cannot afford to run the risk of employing contractors who are not able to prove that they have sound health and safety policies in place.
“More companies need to understand the importance of adopting good risk management in the way that LARS Communications has done. The firm’s high standard has set an example which hopefully will be followed by other companies within the sector. SafeContractor plays a vital role in supporting our clients in meeting their compliance needs, whilst working with their contractors as they progress through the accreditation process.”
Julian Cooper, Business Development Manager at LARS added; “Achieving the Alcumus SafeContractor accreditation for the fifth successive year demonstrates just how seriously we scrutinise our health and safety practices. We are obviously delighted that this commitment has been recognised.”
