Estimator/Quantity Surveyor

LARS is growing its clientele, and we have an excellent opportunity for an Estimator or Quantity Surveyor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in construction or engineering projects, be organized, motivated, detail-oriented and driven.  The post is advertised as full-time but there is scope for part-time or flexible working for the right candidate.

Job Tasks

  • Receive and acknowledge customer enquiries
  • Review contracts, drawings, specification, site visit reports/surveys and customer requirements
  • Communicate with LARS team members: Managing Director, Business Development Manager, Project Managers and Finance
  • Understand scope of works to bid to
  • Communicate with trade partners, subcontractors and team members regarding projects and establish working relationship
  • Source and evaluate subcontract/supplier pricing to meet specific requirements
  • On board subcontract partners and manage subcontractor accounts
  • Prepare and submit bids
  • Contract review; purchase orders and contracts
  • Prepare and review cost analysis on active and completed jobs
  • Manage additional costs and variations
  • Submit work valuations and invoicing to customers and accounts department

Skills/Experience/Qualifications

  • Experience and/or qualifications in a construction, or engineering based discipline
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings
  • Ability to understand contracts and specifications
  • Commercially astute
  • Proficiency with MS Word and Excel
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work as part of a team

Trainee Riggers

Tower fabrication and installation

Because of notable microwave rigging contract awards LARS Communications are looking to recruit more Trainee Riggers.

You will need to have a full driving licence, practical skills and the ability to be able to work at height. Ideally you will live locally to LARS and work will be a mix of local and national with periods working away from home. Full working at height training provided.

Riggers

LARS Communications are based in Carnforth, Lancashire and provide a range of radio and radar infrastructure services including tower fabrication and installation and antenna rigging, alignment and testing.

We are looking to recruit experienced Riggers to assist with up and coming projects. Work will be predominantly microwave rigging and will be a mix of local and national with long periods working away from home.

Project Supervisor/Manager

LARS Communications is a leading radio infrastructure solutions company providing tower manufacture and installation, microwave rigging and civils work services to numerous market sectors.

We are looking for an office based Project Supervisor/Manager to join our team and be responsible for leading projects across a range of engineering disciplines.

The role will include:

  • Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan
  • Take ownership for the end-to-end service delivery for different projects within time, budget and to high quality standards
  • Co-ordination of customer and site contacts as well as third party contractors
  • Resource management of teams and equipment
